It congratulates him on his new appointment and reiterates its willingness to assist him in his new duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the view of the QMA, the mining industry must be able to rely on a Minister of the Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change who is aware of the issues facing the industry and who puts forward legislative and regulatory measures that ensure that the government&#8217;s objectives can be achieved in a way that takes the realities of Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s mining sector into account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00ab Qu\u00e9bec can count on a mining industry that is responsible and conducts its operations in a way that respects both people and the environment. Several promising mines are now operating, and others are under development. Actions must be taken now to ensure that the mining industry continues to drive Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s prosperity, in particular by reducing excessive delays in the environmental authorization process for the development of mining projects.
