They maintained accident-free periods of between 50,000 and 350,000 hours over the past year, which is remarkable in a field as hazardous as mining. The workers were part of a group of 221 foremen and supervisors working in Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s mining industry whose efforts were recognized by the QMA this year. Each prizewinner received a health and safety award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the results recorded in the C\u00f4te-Nord and \u00celes-de-la-Madeleine regions, Pascal Chabot, a mining foreman, achieved the most hours with a total of <strong>350,000 hours without an accident<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prizewinners from the C\u00f4te-Nord and \u00celes-de-la-Madeleine regions at the 58th annual ceremony work at<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ArcelorMittal Mining Canada<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Qu\u00e9bec Iron Ore<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rio Tinto Iron and Titanium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Windsor Salt Ltd., Mines Seleine des Iles-de-la-Madeleine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quote<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cHonouring the health and safety commitment of our workers is an essential step in moving the industry forwards.
