The Québec mining association honours 111 mine workers in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec regions

Québec City, September 22, 2022 – The Québec Mining Association (QMA) has recognized the workplace health and safety achievements of 158 mining industry foremen and supervisors, including 111 who work for companies in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec regions. They received a workplace health and safety trophy to commend their achievements and the effort made by their teams to maintain a safe working environment for periods of between 50,000 and 650,000 hours in 2021.

The winners for 2022 in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec regions work for the following companies:

• Hecla Québec – Casa Berardi Mine
• IAMGOLD Corporation – Westwood Mine
• Canadian Malartic Partnership – Odyssey Mine
• Raglan Mine, a Glencore company
• Agnico Eagle Mines – LaRonde Complex
• Agnico Eagle Mines – Goldex Mine
• Wesdome Gold Mines – Kiena Mine
• Newmont – Éléonore Mine
• Canadian Malartic Partnership – Canadian Malartic Mine
• Stornoway Diamonds Corporation – Renard Mine

The QMA highlights the outstanding achievement of the mine production foreman Sylvain Bureau and his team at Canadian Malartic Mine, who set a new record of 650,000 work hours without a compensated accident.
